We are so excited to announce the addition of Kevin Awe to our team! Kevin will serve as director of client strategy for MAKE, overseeing the intersection of marketing initiatives and business planning, with a focus on tying execution to results.
Kevin comes to Kansas City by way of Gainesville, Florida, where he oversaw a national portfolio of client website analytics, conversion tracking, SERP rankings—and all other digital marketing efforts—as the lead digital marketing strategist for Jumpem, a full-service digital marketing agency.
After graduating from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in creative advertising in 2011, Kevin kicked off his marketing career as an account coordinator for Frankel Media Group, the largest full-service ad agency in north central Florida. From there, he moved to Digital Brands, where he ran the retail side of the agency by conceptualizing, creating, and monetizing web properties, with a focus on SEO, PPC, email marketing, and social media.
In 2015, Kevin exhibited his entrepreneurial chops when he identified an untapped niche market in the Gainesville area and started Black Border Media, providing high quality, purposeful indoor advertising solutions to local establishments. As the CEO of BBM, Kevin led a team with a dedicated mission and experienced such immediate success and rapid growth that he was able to sell the agency within two years.
As he targeted a move to KC and searched for an agency landing spot, Kevin felt an undeniable draw to the high quality people and driven work environment of MAKE Digital.
“I was attracted to agencies in a larger market which were making an impact on the industry as a whole,” Kevin says. “The camaraderie and culture are what first caught my attention at MAKE, and the variety and quality of services we provide excite me anew every day.”
Kevin also pointed to the diversity and local impact of the clients MAKE serves as a major selling point in his decision.
